A Yorkshire Wedding Full of Emotion, Music & Dancing - Loren & Rich - A & A Video
There are some wedding venues that seem to have been made for relaxed, fun and completely unforgettable wedding days, and The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey is definitely one of them.
Set within the Bolton Abbey Estate in the Yorkshire Dales, this incredible 16th-century barn overlooks the ruins of Bolton Abbey Priory and the River Wharfe, making it one of the most impressive wedding venues in North Yorkshire. It was the perfect setting for Loren & Rich’s wedding, with a day full of emotion, live music, plenty of dancing and some seriously good party energy.
The day started at nearby rented accommodation, where Loren and her bridal party were getting ready with some beautiful North Yorkshire countryside views around them.
Rich was getting ready nearby with his side of the wedding party, and there was a lovely sense of excitement building as the morning went on.
One of my favourite parts of the morning was capturing Loren and Rich opening gifts and cards from each other. There were plenty of emotions, with those quiet reactions and little personal moments that can so easily get missed during the busier parts of a wedding day.
It is exactly these kinds of moments that I love filming. Nothing staged or overly directed, just genuine reactions and the story of the day naturally unfolding.
Back at The Tithe Barn, the room was looking incredible, with stunning florals lining the barn as guests arrived and took their seats.
The Tithe Barn is a pretty special setting for a wedding ceremony. The scale of the barn makes for an amazing ceremony backdrop, particularly when it is dressed with flowers and filled with guests.
For Loren and Rich, the ceremony was full of those important moments, emotional reactions, vows, exchanging rings and, of course, finally becoming husband and wife.
But there wasn't much time for everyone to catch their breath afterwards.
Confetti, Live Music & Plenty of Energy
As Loren and Rich made their way back down the aisle, a live mobile band played them out of the ceremony and straight into a confetti line. It was such a fun way to kick off the celebrations.
Rather than disappearing off for a long couple shoot, the focus was very much on enjoying the day with their guests. There was dancing, drinks, canapés and the band keeping the atmosphere going as everyone enjoyed the surroundings of The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey.
That relaxed approach is something I really enjoy about filming weddings. The best moments often happen when couples are simply left to enjoy themselves rather than constantly being pulled away from their guests.
An Entrance to Remember
The energy continued into the wedding breakfast. Loren and Rich made their entrance to napkins being waved above heads, plenty of cheering and the couple stopping to embrace their guests as they made their way towards the top table. It was loud, lively and completely them.
After the meal came the speeches, with plenty more emotion and laughter before everyone headed outside to enjoy a gorgeous evening on the terrace, with views across the Bolton Abbey estate and the surrounding Yorkshire Dales, it was a pretty perfect place to spend some time before the evening celebrations got properly underway.
The first dance brought everyone back inside, followed by a dance floor that was packed for the rest of the night.
After such an energetic day, it felt like the perfect ending – live music, dancing, loads of laughter and a room full of people completely letting loose.
