As a wedding videographer in North Yorkshire, I'm lucky enough to film weddings at some incredible venues, and Gemma & Jake's celebration at The Priests House was a perfect reminder of why I love what I do.
Nestled on the edge of the North York Moors in the picturesque market town of Skipton, The Priests House offers a truly unique setting for couples looking for a wedding venue full of character. With its historic stone buildings, beautiful grounds, and breathtaking views across the Yorkshire countryside, it's a venue that feels both intimate and spectacular at the same time.
Gemma's wedding day story began with one of the most memorable moments of the day—her arrival at The Priests House with her father.
Walking down the beautiful stone pathway towards the ceremony, surrounded by family and friends waiting in anticipation, it was a moment filled with excitement and emotion. The historic surroundings of The Priests House provided the perfect backdrop as Gemma made her entrance.

One of the things that made Gemma & Jake's wedding so special was how personal their ceremony felt.
Held at The Priests House, their celebrant-led ceremony told the story of their relationship, sharing memories and the journey that brought them to this day. These ceremonies always create wonderful moments because they're completely tailored to the couple, and this one was no exception.
A particularly meaningful moment came during the hand-tying ceremony, where ribbons were wrapped around their hands as a symbol of their commitment to one another. It was a beautiful addition that made the ceremony feel even more personal and memorable.

After taking a few quiet moments together as newlyweds, Gemma & Jake emerged to a fantastic confetti tunnel created by their guests.
The atmosphere was electric as family and friends cheered them through a shower of confetti, celebrating the start of married life in style. These moments always make for incredible wedding film footage, full of genuine smiles, laughter, and excitement.

Drinks, Canapés and Ice Cream in the Yorkshire Sunshine
The celebrations continued with drinks, delicious canapés, and a welcome treat of ice cream for guests.
One of the standout features of The Priests House is how well its outdoor spaces work for weddings. The beautiful gardens and surrounding countryside create the perfect environment for guests to relax, mingle, and enjoy the day while taking in the stunning North Yorkshire scenery.

A Grand Entrance into the Wedding Breakfast
The energy continued as Gemma & Jake made their grand entrance into the wedding breakfast.
The room erupted with cheers and applause as they entered, clearly ready to celebrate with their favourite people. Before the meal began, Jake took a moment to welcome everyone and thank them for being part of their special day, setting the tone for a fantastic afternoon ahead.

Exploring the Grounds and North Yorkshire Countryside
One of my favourite parts of any wedding day is stealing the couple away for a few minutes to capture some relaxed footage together.
The Priests House offers plenty of beautiful locations on-site, from its charming historic architecture to the surrounding gardens. We also took advantage of the incredible North Yorkshire landscape nearby, heading into the rolling hills to create some stunning cinematic shots.
The combination of dramatic countryside views and the character-filled venue gave us an incredible variety of footage that perfectly reflected the feel of the day.

Laughter, Cake and Dancing
As the evening celebrations began, it was time for the cake cutting. What could have been a simple tradition quickly turned into one of the funniest moments of the day, with plenty of laughter from both the couple and their guests.
Soon after, Gemma & Jake took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. Surrounded by their loved ones, it was the perfect way to begin the evening party and get everyone ready for a night of celebrating.

Wedding Videographer at The Priests House
Gemma & Jake's wedding was a wonderful example of what makes weddings at The Priests House so special. From the personal ceremony and stunning Yorkshire scenery to the relaxed atmosphere throughout the day, every moment felt genuine and full of joy.
